Children’s Irish Play

Performed by Between the Jigs and Reels Productions


Once again the Jigs and the Reels team will be returning with the further adventures of Fionn McCool and his missus, Una. Their new show is called 
Inspector Dooley Pays a Visit. Someone has been telling tall tales of Ireland of long ago and Dublin Castle doesnt like it. They send Inspector Dooley to investigate and put a stop to this story telling. Fionn, who spends every day telling stories, is very nervous . He is afraid he will be thrown into the DEEPEST, DARKEST DUNGEON in Dublin Castle and never be seen again. Will Fionn escape the clutches of Inspector Dooley? Will Fionn get a good nights sleep? Is Inspector Dooleys mustache real? All will be revealed in the hilarious new comedy from the Jigs and Reels Production Company.

Tours of the Cottage and Map

Guided tours of the Authentic Donegal Irish Cottage, and World’s Largest Map of Ireland. Enjoy our Irish hospitality at the Cottage with a cup of tea and homemade Soda Bread. ‘Bord Na Mona’ turf briquettes will also be available for purchase.

Sheep & Spinning Demonstration

Presented by Heather Ridge Farm

 

Heather Ridge Farm will have sheep and spinning demo at the Irish Cottage on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00pm where there will be tea, soda bread and a turf fire. Bring children to see Heather and her three newborn lambs and Miniature Horses – a MUST SEE!

Open Music Session and Sing Song

Bring your instrumentsand singing voices and join in on our open music sessions. All ages and skill levels welcome. Come stop by to play or to just listen to the music! Guitars, banjos, accordions, violins, and all others instruments are welcome!

Irish Language & Poetry Workshops

Taught by Tom Malley

 

Tom Malley, also known in Donegal as Tom Melly or Tom Charlie the Herd, had his rst exposure
to Irish language from his Donegal born father. His education continued with 6 years at the New
York Gaelic Society, making him a veritable expert in the eld. He is currently adjunct instructor of
Irish Language at Herkimer County Community College and Mohawk Valley CC. He is also the Irish
language ocer of Craobh Dugan (Dugan Branch) and Northeast Region of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri
Eireann (Irish Musicians Association). The purpose of CCE is to preserve and promote the learning
of and use of Traditional Irish music, dance, language and storytelling. He will present a workshop
presentation & discussion on Irish language and poetry.
