At the 2013 Irish Festival Heritage Tent

Larry Kirwan
Saturday at 4:00 PM
Larry Kirwan, leader of Black 47/Host of 
Celtic Crush on Sirius XM/lrish Echo columnist, will 
read from his novel Rockin’ The Bronx and his 
memoir, Green Suede Shoes, at 4pm Saturday at 
the Heritage Tent. He will do a Question and 
Answer session with special emphasis on 
songwriting, playwriting, novel writing,
broadcasting and journalism for those who might 
be interested in entering such fields. He’ll also 
comment on the price of turnips and other 
relevant matters.
Mark Sisti
Sunday at 12:30 PM
Mark Sisti lives in Whitesboro, NY and is a 
lead member of the Blarney Rebel Band. He 
instructs at Mohawk Valley Community College, 
Utica, NY where he teaches classes on Irish Myths 
and Legends as well as courses on Irish Songs. He 
also co-edits the Mohawk Valley Irish Cultural 
Events Newsletter. One of his favorite Gaelic 
sayings is ‘Bain Ceol as an Tsaol’ which means 
‘Reap Music from Life’. Mark will present & discuss 
Irish Myths & Legends.
Tom Malley

Tom Malley, also known in Donegal as 
Tom Melly or Tom Charlie the Herd, had his first 
exposure to Irish language from his Donegal born 
father. His education continued with 6 years at the 
New York Gaelic Society, making him a veritable 
expert in the field. He is currently adjunct 
instructor of Irish Language at Herkimer County 
Community College and Mohawk Valley Cc. He is 
also the Irish language officer of Craobh Dugan 
(Dugan Branch) and Northeast Region of 
Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (Irish Musicians 
Association). The purpose of CCE is to preserve 
and promote the learning of and use of Traditional 
Irish music, dance, language and storytelling. He 
will present a workshop presentation & discussion 
on Irish language and poetry.
